The Primary Contact, Company Administrator(s) or a Special Approver (the Special Approver will need to have access to the Manage Resp Org/SCP ID(s) request) has the ability to manage their Responsible Organizations (Resp Orgs) and Service Control Point Owner/Operators (SCP O/Os) IDs listed on the Somos® Portal Website (portal.somos.com). Resp Orgs and SCP O/Os are provided with 2 Resp Org or SCP IDs when Service Establishment has been completed. The Manage Resp Org/SCP ID(s) request may be used to request the creation of additional Resp Org ID(s) or SCP ID(s) needed by your organization for no additional charge. Your Entity’s existing Primary Contact will automatically be assigned to the new ID(s) and a new Resp Org Change Contact may be assigned to each new ID. The Primary Contact or Company Administrator(s) or a Special Approver with permissions has the ability to add additional Resp Org or SCP ID(s) on the Somos Portal Website.
To manage Resp Org/SCP IDs (i.e. your Company), please go to the "Company Admin" section. Next, please select the "Manage Company" and then select one of the four following options:
- Company Search: Select this option to search for your Company’s information.
- Company Advanced Search: Select this option to search for your Company’s information using advanced search methods.
- Modify Company: Select this option to modify your Company’s information such as your company phone number, company email address, company address and company website address and more.
- Add Company: Select this option to add a Resp Org or SCP ID under your Entity.
Resp Org or SCP IDs can be modified by selecting the "Modify Company" menu item, enter the Resp Org or SCP ID and then select the "Submit" button to proceed with modifying the company’s information. However, if the Resp Org or SCP ID that needs modification is unknown, simply search for it by selecting either the "Company Search" or "Company Advanced Search" menu items and complete one or more of the following search fields that are displayed. Please Note: On the Company Search page, the "Company Name" field is a drop down menu. The second "Company Name" field will allow the Company Name to be entered. Once the one or more fields have been completed, select the "Search" button to view the company’s information. An advanced company search may be completed by selecting the "Company Advanced Search" menu item in the left navigational menu. Next, once the "View Company" page is displayed, scroll down on the page to select the "Edit" button. After the change has been made, select the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page.
To add a new Company under the same Entity, please select the "Add Company" menu item under the "Manage Company" menu items. An Entity is identified by the first 2 characters of a Resp Org or SCP ID. Some companies have multiple Resp Org ID(s) but each ID begins with the same Entity code (i.e. ZAC01, ZAC02, and ZAT99). Please Note: Additional Resp Org or SCP ID(s) can be added under the same Entity with no additional charge.
When adding or editing your desired company information for the Primary Resp Org ID (your Primary Resp Org ID can be located by completing a Company Advanced Search and selecting the "Primary" field), additional information may be provided about your company to Toll-Free End Subscribers on the Somos Website (somos.com). This additional information includes your company's website and the information provided in the "Toll-Free Service Provider Listing on Somos.com" portion of the page.
The company information that can be provided to Toll-Free End Subscribers includes the following:
- Select Category Type: Select one or more categories to tell Toll-Free End Subscribers what Toll-Free services your company provides. Missing a category type for your business? Please complete an Enhancement Request in the "Submit Requests" section of the Somos Portal Website.
- Business Description: Provide a short company description that will be included on the Somos Website (somos.com). The max character limit is 400 characters.
- Contact Email Address: Provide a valid email address that a Toll-Free End Subscriber could reach you at in addition to your company's phone number.
- Do Not List on the Somos Website (somos.com): Check this box if you do not want this Resp Org ID's company information to be provided on the website.
To add the 3rd Party Provider listing information for the Somos Website to your Primary Resp Org ID, simply select the "Add New 3rd Party Provider" button and a pop up window will appear asking the following information to be completed:
- Company Name: Enter the 3rd Party Provider Company’s name.
- Company Email: Enter the 3rd Party Provider Company's email address.
- Phone: Enter the 3rd Party Provider Company’s phone number.
- Website: Enter the 3rd Party Provider Company’s website.
- Business Description: Provide a short company description that will be included on the Somos Website (somos.com). The max character limit is 400 characters.
- Select Category Type: Select one or more categories to tell Toll-Free End Subscribers what Toll-Free services your company provides. Missing a category type for your business? Please complete an Enhancement Request in the "Submit Requests" section of the Somos Portal Website.
After entering in the desired information, please select the "Save" button in the pop up window. This process can be repeated as many times as needed in order to add all of your 3rd Party Provider Listings if you have more than one.
Once the "Submit" button has been selected the request will be sent to the Help Desk for processing. Please Note: For a change of the Primary Contact the Help Desk will notify the approver within 3 business days.
