The General Notification and Approval Setup (GNA) page is accessed by a Carriers’ manager or you, an authorized user (who has the appropriate Carrier permissions). The GNA page allows that you to create and manage Carrier Identification Codes (CIC) according to the needs of their organization. A Carrier can define when they want notification (or not) or approval (if applicable) for several categories of Customer Record (CAD) (also known as a CR) change conditions when the specified CIC is used in a CR.
The Carrier also uses the GNA page to specify the delivery method for receiving notification messages and approval requests:
- Online (within the TFNRegistry™ (tfnregistry.somos.com) – Carrier Notification (NOF) or Carrier Approval (APR))
- Unsolicited Notification
Please Note: The GNA page must be set up before the Entity Notification and Approval Setup (ENO/EAP) page can be used.
- For more information about the ENA page, please click here.
Please Note: The precedence order of the Carrier notification and approval pages is listed below:
- Carrier Notification and Approval settings for a specific CIC at the lowest level of detail (that is, at the Toll-Free Number (TFN) level) have highest precedence.
- These settings at the next level of detail (that is, at the Resp Org level for a specific CIC) have second highest precedence.
- These settings at the highest level of detail (that is, at the CIC level) have 3rd and last precedence.
- Stated another way, CIC settings on the ENO and EAP pages will override the CIC settings on the ENA and GNA pages, and the CIC settings on the ENA page will override the CIC settings on the GNA page.
To access the GNA page, from the Landing page or any page, you can select the Menu icon (in the upper left corner), the “Carrier Administration” menu item and then the “General Notification & Approval Setup” sub-menu item. Once the “General Notification & Approval Setup” sub-menu item has been selected, the GNA page will be displayed.
