To create a Customer Record (CAD) (also known as a CR), the Toll-Free Number (TFN) must be in a Reserved status and the controlling (current, old) Resp Org of the TFN and Resp Org of the user must match. You must select the Menu icon in the upper left corner from any page in the TFNRegistry™, then the “Customer Record Administration” menu item and then the “Customer Record (CAD)” menu item. After the CR page is displayed, you must enter the following items:
- The TFN in the “Toll-Free Number” fields and then select the “Retrieve” button. If the TFN meets the criteria specified above, a pop-up window is displayed with the message: “Do you want to create a new Customer Record?”.
- The Basic Customer Record (CAD) portion of a CAD contains the Customer Record Administration Information, Areas of Service, Carriers, Destination and Contact Information.
- Data for all mandatory fields (marked with ‘*’) and optionally provide data for the optional fields. You must select the “Submit” button to validate the entered information, save the CAD and have it processed further.

Please Note: If the TFN is in a Transitional status, you must first go to the Number Query and Update (NQU) page under the Number Administration menu in order to return it to a Reserved status first by using the "Status" drop down menu on the page.
Alternative: To save a record in the TFNRegistry without passing full validation and not allowing the CR for the TFN to become Active (or Pending), select the "Save" button.
