The Special Number Change request may be used to request a Responsible Organization (Resp Org) change, routing change, or the release of a Toll-Free Number (TFN) controlled by multiple Resp Org companies. The request may be used for TFNs considered Canadian/US Duplicate (BRCUD), Radio Common Carrier (BRRCC) or State Duplicate (BRDUP) numbers. With these types of special TFNs that have multiple Resp Org ID(s) assigned to them, an individual user may not directly make changes to the numbers in the TFNRegistryâ„¢ (tfnregistry.somos.com).
Please Note: If a Resp Org change on a Special Number requires routing updates, the Special Number Change Request, Resp Org Change Help Desk Intervention request, and a Letter of Agency (LOA) will need to be submitted. However, if a Resp Org change on a Special Number does not require routing updates, only a Resp Org Change Help Desk Intervention request and LOA will need to be submitted. On the Resp Org Change Help Desk Intervention request, please state the Controlling (current, old) Resp Org ID in the "Old Resp Org ID" field. After completing the remaining fields of the Resp Org Change Help Desk Intervention request, in Step 4 of the request, please state what type of Special Number (BRCUD, BRRCC, BRDUP) it is in the "Notes/Alternate Contact Information" field.
In Step 1 of this request, please select the Special Number type for the TFN in the "Canadian/USA Duplicate (BRCUD)", "Radio Common Carrier (BRRCC)", or "State Duplicate (BRDUP)" designated field. Once you have entered the TFN, please enter the "requested Date of Change" in the date field and select the state or country portion of the TFN to be changed from the drop down menu. After selecting the state or country, you may select one of the available actions to be performed on the TFN entered on the request.
- Update Routing: Select this option when the Customer Record routing for the TFN will need to be changed as part of the request.
- Release Number from Resp Org: Select this option to remove your organization as the controlling (current) Resp Org on the specific portion of the entered TFN.
If you selected the "Update Routing" option, you will be directed to Step 2 of this request. On the "Customer Record" page, please enter the required fields. The required fields are: Area of Service (AOS), CIC Code(s), Destination Number(s), Source Toll-Free, and Routing Information/Special Instructions. If you would like to add additional notes or documentation, please select the "Continue" button to proceed to Step 3 of this request or you can select the "Submit" button to complete the request.
If you selected the "Release Number from Resp Org" option, you will be directed to Step 3 of this request. In Step 3 of this request, please review your submitter information. If you wish add notes or alternate contact information regarding this request, please utilize the space provided. Additional documentation may also be attached to the request. Once you have completed the request, select the "Submit" button to send the request to Help Desk for processing.
