The Carrier IntraLATA Exceptions (CLE) page is available to Local Exchange Carriers (LECs) that want to disallow the use of their local network to certain Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) destination phone numbers. You, as an authorized user, enter the POTS phone numbers that are not allowed to be used for routing for Toll-Free Numbers (TFNs). Before the CLE page can be set up, you must call or text the Help Desk at 844.HEY.SOMOS (844.439.7666), Option 1 to set up the Operating Company Number Mapping to Entity (OCN) page for the Responsible Organization's (Resp Org's) Entity.
The CLE page allows you to identify the set of POTS destination numbers (10 digits or 6 digit NPA-NXXs which map to any of the LEC’s OCNs) that are not allowed to be used in Toll-Free routing. If a LEC sets up the CLE page, then Resp Orgs that attempt to create new or update records that use a POTS destination number that is restricted (listed on the CLE page) will receive an error message. In this scenario, the Resp Org of the record needs to replace the disallowed POTS destination number with an allowed number.
Please Note: TFNRegistry will not validate the POTS numbers in the OCN page until record validation occurs.
