TFNRegistry UI: What are the Fields, their Descriptions and Valid Values for the ASL Page?

AOS Label Name – “Label”

This is Mandatory user-assigned value for the label. The value must be unique within the TFNRegistry for the specified Areas of Service (AOS) label type, although the same label name may be re-used for multiple label types.

Alphanumeric (3-7).

AOS Label Type – “Type”

States, Area Codes (NPAs), NPA-NXXs, or LATAs. At least one type is mandatory.

Effective Date

This is mandatory Effective Date of the AOS argument list. When creating a new AOS label the Effective Date must be between the current date plus 1 day and one year from the current date. The described format is used when entering or displaying a date in the TFNRegistry. Dates in the Application Programming Interface (API) messages will follow the format described in that specification.

Resp Org

The Responsible Organization (Resp Org) Unit that created or controls the label and its corresponding AOS argument list.

Alphanumeric (5).

ASL Record Status – “Status”

The ASL Record Status is a retrieved field in which identifies the status of the record based on its Effective Date.

• Active - Its Effective Date is equal to or earlier than the current date. A unit with the status of active has view only.
• Pending - A unit having a future Effective Date. A unit with the status of pending can be modified.
• Old - A previously active unit having a past Effective Date. A unit with the status of old has view only permission and cannot be modified. An old unit can be accessed for up to 5 days after which, the TFNRegistry automatically deletes it.
• Disconnect - A current unit that has been disconnected and is no longer in effect. A unit with the status Disconnect has view only permission and cannot be modified. (However Old records may still exist for that label, meaning the AOS label may still be applicable to older records activated before the ASL record’s Effective Date).

Status values:

• Active
• Pending
• Old
• Disconnect

AOS Argument List

User-defined list of valid AOS arguments of the indicated label type. The list arguments will be represented by the label and may be in any record controlled by the Resp Org.

LATA, State, and NPA can have up to 56 list entries and NPA-NXX can have up to 255 list entries.

List (0-255, varies by label type). Required when creating or updating labels.
