Special Studies (SPS) Field Descriptions

10-digit	Identifies the 10-digit telephone number for the study. The 10-digit number can be a Toll-Free Number (TFN) or a destination Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) number. Please Note: In TFNRegistry^TM UI, when the entered number is a TFN, the Number Type field defaults to “TFN”. If the entered number is a POTS#, then the Number Type field defaults to “Destination”.	10-digit telephone number in the following format: NPA-NXX-XXXX. Hyphens are optional. Input Field.
6-digit	Identifies the 6-digit TFN or destination NPA-NXX for the study. The entry can be either a POTS# NPA-NXX or a Toll-Free NPA-NXX. Please Note: In TFNRegistry UI, when the entered number is a TFN, the Number Type field defaults to “TFN”. If the entered number is a POTS#, then the Number Type field defaults to “Destination”.	6 digits in the following format: NPA-NXX. Hyphens are optional. Input Field.
Carrier	Identifies the 4-digit or 3-alpha character code that represents a specific Carrier/CIC code. Please Note: The Number Type field is not associated with the Carrier entry.	Valid 4-digit or 3-alpha character Carrier/CIC code. Input Field.
SSP	Identifies the 11-character CLLI code that specifies the Service Switch Point (SSP) for which the study is being requested. Please Note: The Number Type field is not associated with the Carrier entry.	Valid 11 character CLLI code that identifies the SSP. Input Field.
Time Limit	Identifies the maximum duration of the study in hours.	Required Field. 3-digit entry from 1 to 168. Input Field.
Number Type	Mandatory when data is entered in the 10-digit or 6-digit fields. Please Note: In UI, if the 10-digit/6-digit field is populated with a POTS#, then this field defaults to “Destination” and is protected. The value in this field can only be changed from “TFN” to “Destination” when the entered 10-digit/6-digit is a Toll-Free Number.	TFN – 10-digit/6-digit is a Toll- Free Number. Call Limit	Identifies the maximum number of call attempts per Service Control Point (SCP) before the study is terminated at the SCP.	Required Field. 3 numeric from 1 to 100. Input Field.
SCP ID	Identifies the SCP which is retrieved for the trap criteria selected. The SCPs are listed by mated pairs. Help Desk users - All SCPs within the TFNRegistry are retrieved. SCP Administrator - Only SCPs within their own network are retrieved.	4 alphanumeric. Output Field.
SCP Select Indicator	Identify at which SCP(s) a special study is to be performed. No more than 10 Special Studies can be performed at an SCP at any time. Please Note: In TFNRegistry UI, for the retrieved SCPs, only the SCPs within the Area of Service (AOS) of the entered TFN Number type 10-digit or 6-digit TFN Number type are marked after the retrieve. In TFNRegistry UI, all retrieved SCPs will be checked if the entered field is Carrier, SSP or 10-digit/6-digit of the Destination number type.	Required Field. Boolean. Critical Indicator	Send the Special Study request to an SCP even when the SCP is in overload.	Optional Field. Boolean. Yes or No. Input Field.
