Somos: Can an Electronic Signature (eSignature) be Used on an LOA?

Responsible Organizations (Resp Orgs) that are using Electronic Signature (eSignature) capabilities in place of a wet signature on a Letter of Agency (LOA) must review and certify that they comply with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Guidelines for eSignatures (E-Sign Act of 2000) in order to use eSignatures with Somos^®. To certify compliance, the Resp Org’s Primary Contact or Company Administrator must submit a Special Request to the Help Desk. This request must provide the following information:

1. The Company Name and the Entity ID (which is the first two characters of the Resp Org ID followed by 3 asterisks (e.g. BR***) of the Resp Org that is using eSignatures.
2. A statement confirming that the Resp Org has reviewed the E-Sign Act of 2000.
3. A statement verifying the Resp Org complies with the E-Sign Act of 2000.

Please Note: The Help Desk maintains a file of previously submitted Special Requests. Somos does not verify the validity of eSignature requests that have been submitted. Compliance with E-Sign Act of 2000 is the responsibility of the Resp Org.

Resp Orgs Approved to Use eSignatures with Somos

Resp Orgs who are listed in the following table have submitted a Special Request, stating that they have reviewed and comply with FCC Guidelines for eSignatures. These Resp Orgs are approved to use eSignatures with Somos.
