By using the Operating Company Number (OCN) Mapping to Entity page, OCN codes can be listed for the retrieved Local Exchange Carrier (LEC). Each Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) destination (termination) number NPA-NXX is assigned to an OCN code and Entity ID(s). The OCN code identifies the Controlling (current) LEC. The Entity IDs identify the Controlling Network Service Provider (NSP). Multiple NPA-NXXs may map to the same OCN code.
The mapping of POTS destination number's NPA-NXXs to the OCN codes and Entity IDs is defined in the Terminating Point Master (TPM) data source. In order to check the OCN mapping to Entity, you, as an authorized user, can select the “Operating Company Number Mapping to Entity” sub-menu from the “Carrier Administration” menu.
