A Primary Contact may designate one or more Company Administrators for their company. A Primary Contact automatically has Company Administrator permissions. A Company Administrator has permissions to submit all requests and add, change, or disconnect users for the Somos® Portal Website (portal.somos.com) and the TFNRegistry™ (tfnregistry.somos.com).
During the establishment of your company within Somos, a member of the Help Desk team creates a "Login ID" associated with your Entity. During this process, the "Login ID" and an initial password are emailed to the Primary Contact by the Somos Portal Website. Upon logging into the Somos Portal Website for the first time, all users are prompted to enter a numeric Personal Identification Number (PIN). If at any time your password is forgotten, you can have a new password sent to your email address by verifying the numeric PIN.
To begin the process of designating a Company Administrator, a Primary Contact would first log into the Somos Portal Website. After successfully logging into the Somos Portal Website, navigate to the "Company Admin" section from the home page. Once the "Company Admin" section is displayed, select "Modify User" in the navigation menu located on the left side of the page. Once the "Modify User" page is displayed, please enter the "Login ID" of the individual to be assigned as a Company Administrator and select the "Submit" button. If a "Login ID" does not exist for the person you would like to designate as a Company Administrator, please select "Add User" from the navigation menu, please click here.
By selecting the "Submit" button on the Modify User page, Step 1 of the User Profile request will load for the entered user. Please verify the contact information is correct and then select the "Continue" button. In Step 2 of this request, select the "Company Admin" option from the drop down menu list of the "User Role" field.
After selecting the "Company Admin" role, you are provided with the option of selecting additional companies or Resp Org ID(s) the Company Administrator will have permissions to manage by using the left to right selection buttons. If you are assigning the Company Administrator with access to all Resp Org ID(s) under your Entity, you will also be providing them with the option to remove the Company Admin permissions for some of the Resp Org ID(s). If you want the Company Administrator to have access to only the Somos Portal Website, select "Web User Only" below the assigned company boxes. If you want the Company Administrator to also have access to the TFNRegistry, please uncheck the "Web User Only" option to create a Billable (Application Access) Login ID. Please Note: A Login ID with Billable permissions will have access to applications and environments. Creating a user with this type of access will render a charge on your next invoice. Once the required steps have been completed, you may select the "Submit" button located at the bottom of the page. When selecting the "Submit" button, a window alert will appear stating "Do you want to configure the Notification Profile?". By selecting the "Yes" option, the "Notification Profile" page will appear and provide the ability to update the Somos Notifications that the user will receive. The "Cancel" option will bring you to a confirmation page stating, "User updated successfully". The entered "Login ID" will now have Company Administrator permissions. Please Note: If the Company Administrator Login ID was established with Billable (Application Access) permissions, the User Profile will be sent to the Help Desk for processing and the submitter of the request will be notified within 1-3 business days.
